And of course you know there's also a Sci-Fi Top Fifty coming from me soon, but there are still a couple of genre classics I need to watch before finalizing that list, so it might be another week or so… hold your breaths if you want to! Smile

Am I blind or is there no The Princess Bride on there???

I love a lot of movies on here (kudos for mentioning Pleasantville) but my list would be a hell of a lot different from your one though I couldn't even organise a top 10 in this subgenre right now.

I rate The Princess Bride a 7 out of 10. The movies on my list above all rate an 8 or higher. I know a lot of people have a lot of love for TPB, but I don't think it's *particularly* funny. To me, it just isn't. It's enjoyable, but in my view it only has a very few really good scenes.

Pirates Of The Caribbean – I'm pretty sure that it's still the only movie I ever went to see twice at the cinema. I ended up seeing it three times with different people and loved it every time. Great fun and consistently rewatchable.

I relatively often see good movies twice at the cinema. Saw both Captain America and X-Men: First Class twice in 2011. A tradition started with the first X-Men movie, seen twice in 2000. Any major sci-fi movie that turns out to be really good (like the latest Star Trek), I'll usually see twice.

I just have neither the money nor the time for so many cinema viewings. I like to see big spectacle at the cinema but never really go back. Good on you though, must be even better to see quality sci-fi and superhero movies on the biggest screen you can.

It's another reason why I enjoy the film festivals even as they become hard work (at times). So many movies viewed in cinemas with a pretty respectful audience and for free. Laugh
